Don
Strong founded Strong's Crane Service in 1947. Don's son, Dick sold his excavation
company in 1956 to invest in his father's crane business with intentions of expanding.
It was hard for them to know then that their crane service would continue to grow
well into the 21st century.
After
22 years of hard work in the crane business, Don retired in 1969 and his son Dick
took over the family business. In efforts to continue being the best crane company
in Montana, Strong's purchased their first hydraulic crane in 1969 and a 125-ton
lattice boom truck crane in 1974, at the time, the largest in the state of Montana.
Dick's
son Doug followed in his father and grandfather's footsteps when he came to work
for the company as a crane operator in 1978. Dick and his son worked together
for another 17 years expanding the business and serving the industrial and commercial
businesses throughout Montana and Northern Wyoming before Dick retired in 1995.
Since 1995, the focus of the company has been to modernize the fleet of cranes and equipment for all of our loyal customers. This has greatly improved safety on the jobsite as well as lowering costs through better road ability, faster setup times and more efficient on site operations. Currently, the oldest machine in the company fleet is a 2000.
Adding a Link Belt 90-ton hydraulic truck crane in 2006 and a Link Belt 200-ton all terrain crane in late 2006, Strong's Crane Service continues to work hard to bring the best and safest crane service to its customers in the industrial, commercial and residential sectors.
Along with the operated crane services, Strong's Crane Service, Inc is the distributor for Link-Belt Cranes in the state of Montana and offers sales and parts on all of its cranes.
